Chapter 5.

SHARING

comes naturally to lovers of wine

« 'From the planting to the tasting, it's all about sharing! »

INTRODUCTION

Long before the golden nectar would delight our palates, the days and nights on this long journey were punctuated by uncertainties, tears and joy.

What could be more majestic than to shape that which nourishes us. What could be more heart-warming than to share this work with those around us on a daily basis. What greater honour than to spark the flame that brings such precious pleasure to the heart of satisfied wine enthusiasts*

* 'Vinumane' was the term coined by Laurent Martelet to describe wine enthusiasts. He also suggested the term vinomania, or wine mania.

1. ALL FOR ONE
AND ONE FOR ALL

Wine is not just a reflection of the winegrower.

Wine is the fruit of the remarkable work accomplished by a team of people who love their work. To each their own task, aptitude, agility and know-how. Whether the vine is subject to rain, to wind or to stifling heat, they are there to cherish it and accompany it along the journey from its spring resurrection to a deep winter slumber. These women and men, always in the shadows, are the backbone of a complex profession where exhilaration leads eventually to a resurrection.

2. WHISPERS ON THE WIND

The language of wine is universal, and it crosses borders with those 'gastronomic smugglers' who, like Epicurean monks, deliver our bottles around the world.

What a wonderful pleasure to see photos of laughing wine lovers ready to partake in the contents of the divine bottle in the spirit of human connection.
